Hatching eggs will weigh 1.6 ounces or more.
As a result of the Silver Laced Gene you may hatch some solid silver/white chicks.
I have 7 roosters and 30 hens in this pen.
I have several 7 to 8 month old roosters for sale $50/each.
Most Orpington hens will lay, on average, 225 eggs/year. This will drop off some after they are 2-3 years old.
Some hens go broody and make good mothers.
Mature hens will weigh 4 - 6 pounds. Roosters will weigh 7 - 9 pounds.
Chocolate Silver Laced Orpingtons are one of the most friendly chicken breeds.
Our roosters never flog (spur) us and our hens are like pets.
Our Chocolate Silver Laced Orpingtons free range very well & don't stray very far.
They are also a very good layer of light brown eggs.
