Also known as Standard Cornish. These are the original heirloom breed.
White Standard Cornish are used in the creation of the cornish cross broiler (Standard White Cornish X White Rock) also know as Cornish Cross. We have a project going now with our Light Sussex Roos on White Cornish Hens.
These ARE NOT cornish cross, they are pure bred White Standard Cornish and selected for breed standards.
These birds are a pure bred heritage bird.
These roosters are not my breeders but would make a good cross for your favorite meat type hen.
These birds don't care for human interaction until they mature. They are hard to catch and do not care to be held much. They are difficult to hold because they have strong muscle structure and very large breasts.
Roosters are not aggressive and the whole flock will approach you at feeding time.
Mature roosters will weigh 9 - 10 pounds.
